Social Studies

The social studies program at Whitney Houston Academy is driven by the principles of citizenship, which encourages all students to participate in the global community.  Social Studies seek to encourage and promote beliefs, behaviors and actions that will enable he students to become informed citizens. As a core subject, social studies is critical to sustaining an informed democracy and globally competitive workforce.

Our goal is to encourage thinking strategies, and understanding of diverse cultures and develop the necessary skills and civic values pertaining to leadership, citizenship and democratic ideals to promote honesty, integrity and responsibility as citizen to contribute to family, community, employer and country.
